ParallelMe ("we," "us," or "our") operates the ParallelMe web application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our Service. By using ParallelMe, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
a) Account Information (via Google OAuth)
- Name
- Email address
- Profile photo
b) User-Uploaded Content
- Facial photographs you upload for AI image generation.
c) Automatically Collected Data
- Basic usage data such as timestamps of generation requests.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service: Your uploaded photos are processed by AI models to generate transformed images and backstories.
- To authenticate you: Google OAuth data is used to manage your account and associate your generation history.
- To improve the Service: Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns may be analyzed to improve performance and user experience.
4. Data Storage
- Authentication & Database: Your account data and generation metadata are stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure).
- Image Storage: Uploaded and generated images are stored on Cloudflare R2.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
5. Third-Party Data Sharing
To generate AI images, your uploaded photographs are transmitted to the following third-party services:
- Replicate — for AI image generation (InstantID model).
- Anthropic (Claude API) — for story generation and prompt translation. Your images are not sent to Anthropic; only text prompts are transmitted.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. Data is shared with third-party services solely for the purpose of providing the core functionality of ParallelMe.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your authentication session via Supabase. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking services.
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection regulations, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate personal data.
- Delete your personal data and all associated generated content.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access-controlled storage. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
ParallelMe is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
