Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ParallelMe ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ParallelMe is an AI-powered entertainment service that transforms user-uploaded facial photographs into stylized images set in different historical eras and fictional scenarios, accompanied by AI-generated narrative backstories.

3. User Accounts

  • You may sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload illegal, obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit content.
  • Upload images of other people without their consent.
  • Use the Service to generate content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or promotes violence or discrimination.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or disrupt the Service infrastructure.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, reporting to relevant authorities.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Your Content: You retain ownership of the original photographs you upload.
  • AI-Generated Content: Ownership and copyright of AI-generated images are subject to applicable laws in your jurisdiction. We make no claim of ownership over AI-generated outputs.
  • Service Content: The ParallelMe brand, logo, UI design, and underlying technology remain our intellectual property.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI-generated images and stories are produced by automated machine learning models. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, quality, or likeness of generated results.
  • That results will be free from errors, artifacts, or unintended distortions.
  • That results will be suitable for any particular purpose.

You acknowledge that AI outputs may occasionally produce unexpected, inaccurate, or undesirable results, and you use the Service at your own discretion.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PARALLELME AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Any AI-generated content or results produced by the Service.
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
  • Any third-party conduct or content on the Service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

8. Credits and Payments

ParallelMe operates on a credit-based system. Credits are purchased through our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) and are used to generate AI content.

  • 1 credit = 1 Basic generation (AI image + story).
  • 5 credits = 1 Premium generation (Visual Novel mode, 4 scenes).
  • New accounts receive 1 free credit upon registration.
  • Credits do not expire and are tied to your account.
  • Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
  • All prices are listed in USD. Lemon Squeezy acts as the Merchant of Record and handles applicable taxes.

9. Refund Policy

Because credits represent access to AI computation that is consumed upon use, the following policy applies:

  • Unused credits: Eligible for a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided none of the purchased credits have been used.
  • Partially used credits: No refund is available once any credit from a purchased pack has been consumed.
  • Technical failures: If a generation fails due to a server error on our side and a credit was deducted, we will restore the credit. Contact us at support@parallelme.app with your generation details.
  • Duplicate charges: If you were charged twice for the same order, contact us within 30 days for a full refund of the duplicate charge.

To request a refund, email support@parallelme.app with your order number and account email. Approved refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy and may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

10. Service Availability

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without prior notice. In the event of permanent discontinuation, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users and provide refunds for unused credits. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service beyond this commitment.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers (including Replicate, Supabase, and Cloudflare) for AI processing, data storage, and infrastructure. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of these third-party services.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ParallelMe, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles.
